Pigmentation Treatment
overview:
Pigmentation occurs when melanin is overproduced in certain areas of the skin, resulting in dark spots, sun damage, melasma, or post-inflammatory marks. Our laser pigmentation treatments use precisely targeted wavelengths of light to selectively break down excess melanin deposits without damaging the surrounding healthy skin. The body then naturally processes and clears the fragmented pigment over the following weeks, leaving behind a cleaner, more even complexion.
What makes it different:
Pigmentation is one of the most complex concerns in aesthetic medicine — different types respond to different treatments, and the wrong approach can worsen certain conditions. At Lumière Clinic we take the time to accurately identify the type and depth of your pigmentation before recommending a treatment plan. We may combine laser with medical-grade skin care or chemical peels as part of a comprehensive programme for the most effective and lasting outcome.
What to expect:
The laser handpiece is passed over the pigmented areas in precise passes. You will feel a sharp, brief snapping sensation with each pulse. Immediately after treatment the pigmented areas may appear darker — this is a normal response known as bronzing, and indicates that the melanin has been successfully targeted. Over the following weeks the darkened pigment rises to the surface and flakes away naturally, revealing clearer skin beneath.
Suitable for:
Most skin tones. Particularly effective for sun spots, age spots, freckles, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and superficial melasma. A consultation is required before treatment.
Results:
Noticeable fading of pigmented lesions within 2 to 4 weeks of each session. A course of 2 to 5 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is typically recommended. Sun protection is essential throughout the treatment course and beyond to prevent recurrence.
Duration:
20 – 45 minutes
